Chile

I was very fortunite to have the oppurtunity to guide in Chile for three great years. Guiding fly fisherman in Chile was a life changing experience and I cant wait to get back to down there. I worked for a good friend Sebastian Galilea and he is the proud owner of Cinco Rios and Estancia del Zorro. The lodges are located in the heart of Patagonia in beautiful town called Coyhaique, Chile. If you love to see beautiful places and love to fly fish, this is a place you must see. This area reminds me of what Montana looked like 50 years ago. Just the scenery alone is worth the trip and the fishing is a added bonus! I am one of the few guides that guided on both lodges so I know this area unlike anyone out there.

Cinco Rios

This lodge is 10 minutes from Coyhaique located right on the banks of the Rio Simpson. This lodge offers alot of different styles of fishing with an abundant number of rivers to chose from. On a average week at Cinco Rios which is six days of fishing we try to fit all of it in. My clients will have the oppurtunity to have two days on a jet boat, fishing one of the most beautiful rivers that I have ever seen the Rio Palamo. Throwing big dry flies on the banks trying to get a trophy brown to come up and eat it. The jet boat rides alone truely will make the trip. Another of the two days you will find yourself walk wadding little stream that are loaded with hungry trout that hardly ever see a fly. The other two days, you will be floating in rafts on the Rio Simpson or other rivers within driving range from the lodge.

Estancia del Zorro

This lodge is located on a 15,000 acre estancia about twenty minute from Coyhaique. I was lucky enough to spend most of my first season guiding on this lodge. The Zorro has one of the best spring creeks in the world, that runs right threw the estancia itself. The spring creek is within walking distance from the lodge that you stay in.The style of fishing that we use on the spring creek is usually spot and stalk for trophy browns throwing big dry flies. Also we like to throw streamers throw the big pools on the spring creek. There are alot of little majestic creeks in this region we fish as well as a few days going across into Argentina fishing for big rainbow.

At both lodges you have a chance everytime you cast your line out to catch a fish of a lifetime. Chile is one the most beautiful places in the world and that is comming from a guy that has lived in Montana his whole life. The fishing, food, wine, scenery and the people make it very easy to have a trip of a lifetime. I go down there every year with groups of clients just to make sure that everything goes smoothy and just ensure that it is a trip of a lifetime. Once you have been there you can not wait to get back and that is another reason why I go with. The lodge's fill up really fast so please contact me asap for trip details.
